Morris Center to Host “Art Bark in the Park” Event!
The Morris Center for Lowcountry Heritage will be teaming up with the Jasper Animal Rescue Mission, Palmetto Veterinary Hospital, and Jasper County to host the 2nd Annual Art Bark in the Park event on Saturday, November 3rd, from noon to 3:00pm at the Morris Center for Lowcountry Heritage, located at 10782 S. Jacob Smart Blvd., Ridgeland, SC.
This free event will help promote the Art of Literacy Park funded by Jasper County & the SC Arts Commission as well as the local animal organizations that help to raise awareness on proper pet care in the community.
Visitors of the Morris Center will enjoy live music , refreshments, face painting, a bouncy castle, and more. Pet lovers will enjoy low cost microchipping, vaccine and grooming services, as well as an adopt-a-pet booth, giving guests an opportunity to bring home their favorite animal to a new forever home.
The Morris Center’s art park will be open and available for public use and feature arts supplies and pet artists and other Paint the Park day activities.
“Creating Community through people, parks and programs. This event is what it’s all about,” said Johnny Davis, Director of Parks and Recreation in Jasper County.
All accepted donations benefit the Jasper Animal Rescue Mission, a non-profit organization dedicated to the stray and neglected dogs and cats of Jasper County, South Carolina. Their mission is to provide shelter and humane care to abandoned, neglected or abused animals, placing adoptable dogs and cats in good homes with caring people, and providing educational material and learning opportunities concerning the proper care and treatment of pets.
“This day is about bringing the children in the community and pets together. We believe in the importance of teaching young children how to properly care for animals. This will be a fun day for families to come out and meet some animals while enjoying music and activities,” said Caitlyn Schake, Executive Director of the Jasper Animal Rescue Mission.
