Impress your friends with new-found skills in caricature. Learn the basics of this portrait drawing technique that simplifies or exaggerates facial features. Artist and professor Ian Welch will guide you through the fundamentals and show you how to work with brush-tip markers and pens in a fun, relaxed atmosphere. All artistic levels welcome. $20 per person. Purchases are non-refundable.

Ian J. Welch is an artist, educator and printmaker living in Columbia, South Carolina. Welch received his Master of Fine Arts degree from Northern Illinois University with a focus in Printmaking in 2016, his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Bowling Green State University in 2011, as well as receiving his Associate of Arts degree from Owens Community College in 2008. Welch is an Assistant Professor of Art and Curator of the FAB Gallery at South Carolina State University. Welch was previously an adjunct instructor at Bowling Green State University and Owens Community College, as well as the Gallery Manager/Curator at Gathered Glassblowing Studio.
