Francis Marion is considered a key figure of the Revolutionary War in South Carolina. Leading guerrillas in several victories against British and Britain-allied Colonists, he was coined as the “Swamp Fox.” In honor of his 288th birthday, Charles Baxley will talk about the legacy of Francis Marion. Baxley is a 1974 graduate of the University of South Carolina with a degree in political science and a 1976 doctorate in law. He is a general practice lawyer and lives in Lugoff, South Carolina, where he has practiced law in the firm of Baxley, Pratt & Wells, P.A. for forty-two (42) years.
