Join us for a grand opening like no other as we unveil The Language of Clay: Catawba Indian Pottery & Oral Traditions exhibition, featuring a talk with Dr. Stephen Criswell, Director of the Native American Studies Center. Catawba Artist Beckee Garris will give a pottery demonstration.

Immerse yourself in the single most unbroken material tradition of the Catawba Nation's rich history, where pottery making continues with techniques passed down through generations. This extraordinary exhibition showcases clay pottery pieces crafted by talented Catawba artisans, spanning from the 19th century to the present day, each piece a living testament to various Catawba traditions and legends. Suggested $5 donation.
